Drum roll please for the very first Red Earth Scrapping Creative Team ...
MISTRA HOOLAHAN
Hi I'm Mistra ... I live in Perth, am married and we have a teenage son! I have been scrapping since 2002 when I was introduced, like many of us, to Creative Memories. My scrap journey truly started around 2005 when I sighted my first sheet of Basic Grey (love at first sight does happen)! I settled into a comfortable style of my own when some adventurous friends led me into the world of mixed media; I LOVE bringing it into my scrap art when I can and have delved into "Off The Page" world with a passion.
I like to try new styles, to push my creative boundaries and learn new techniques, in other words I simply love to play!. I try to incorporate the mixed media techniques I have learnt into my work ... from simple paint right through to using inks, stains, mica powders, embossing, alcohol inks, texture paste and gold leaf, whatever it takes to make everything look delicious. I also have a passion for chipboard, bling and flowers ... I would have flowers everywhere given the chance and it would be a rare project that doesn't have chipboard somewhere.
I have been published in For Keeps, Scrapbooking Memories and Scrapbook Creations magazines, and in 2007 was one of the winners of the For Keeps Everyday Moments competition. Earlier this year I was thrilled to be invited to join The Dusty Attic, a superb laser cut chipboard manufacturer, as one of their Design Team Members.
I believe in capturing not only the big events, but the everyday moments of our lives ... it's these little moments that really tell our stories. I adore this art form that brings such happiness, friendships and fun with it and look forward to "playing" here at Red Earth Scrapping.
SUSANNE PERRY
Hello, I'm Susanne. I've been married to Craig since early 2000 and and a S@HM to our two gorgeous girls, Lily and Mackenzie.
We've lived on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW for 4 years now.
I've always enjoyed being creative in one way or another, dabbling in lots of different crafts including sewing, paper tole, cross stitch, photography and card making which eventually led me to take up scrapping a year or so after Lily was born.
It was our sea change, moving away from family and friends, that opened my world to online scrapping forums, shopping and blogs, things that have given me so much fun, inspiration and the chance to meet lots of different people and make new friends as well as some fantastic opportunities, such as becoming a CT member here at Red Earth Scrapping.
Although I think my style is quite simple and clean, there's nothing I like more that to add detail to my cards and layouts by hand cutting patterns and designs from patterned papers. I love bright colours most of all, especially yellow, teal and pink. I also love to stamp on my cards and layouts. I really am partial to cute papers, polka dots and stripes no matter what the brand, but my consistent favourites are October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket.
I've been published in Scrapbook Creations, Scrapbooking Memories and For Keeps magazines and although this isn't a huge focus of why I create, I would love to have some cards published at some point too.
Scrapping really lets me tell the stories of our lives, big and small, through my eyes. I scrap for the creativity and try to preserve the memories of our kids' childhoods which seems to be racing by at a rate of knots.
I'd like to thank Helen for this wonderful opportunity and wish her all the very best and every success for her new venture.
I'm very much looking forward to sharing lots of fun and creating with you all!!!
And joining us from September 2011 ...
Amanda Hartmann
I have been on a few Creative Teams and had my first pages published in Scrapbooking Memories in 2010. I share my work on my blog
